The original version (dark background) is technically also printable, and would actually look cool if printed on poster-size glossy paper. ^_^ This one if for the common colored printers (e.g. ink jets).

reasons to make the background white:
  1. white doesn't use any ink
  2. white looks better when printing in b&w
put aside aesthetics and look at it from a practical pov.

Ok, I'll post a white background version soon. I agree with the B&W printing issue, yellow will be printed as grey. Thanks for the feedback! :)

just be aware of how your colour coding will be less effective when printed in b&w.

Good insight. I just printed this on a laser printer. I'm thinking of putting a micro icon at the North-West corners of the boxes.

Basic items will have no micro-icon.
Green items will have the lumber micro-icon.
Orange items will have the scroll micro-icon.

Which brings me to ask, any deviation here that offers 8x8 icons? That would save me time from creating them from scratch. Icons owners will receive credit in the main DotA Item Chart page.
